With tremendous success the first “Bread Festival”, which is organized by “Loulis Mills” in association with the Bakery Union and the Chamber of Magnesia, took place in Volos.
For four whole days, Friday 13/10 to Monday 16/10, children and adults had the opportunity to visit a pavilion, especially featured for the occasion, at Volos seaside, and to participate in this big “Bread/Bakery festival” .The main purpose of this event was for the citizens to come close with the true value of the traditional fresh bread, which only in their neighborhoods’ bakeries can find!
Magnesia’s bakers performed live baking show for the visitors, and right after that, they’ve shared the freshly made products to the people. Meanwhile, special actions for the children were being held regarding bread and nutrition, and a nutritionist expert spoke about the “food pyramid”, giving valuable advices for a balanced diet and the great importance of bread in it.
Mrs. Evi Louli, Sales and Marketing Director of “Loulis Mills S.A” mentioned characteristically: “Our vision for this festival has started three years ago. Eventually, we have the great pleasure to watch it coming true, with the support of the Bakery Union of Magnesia and our sponsors of course. Our main purpose is for the people to get in touch with the grinding of the wheat procedure, the kneading and the baking of fresh bread”.
The message the co-organizers are sending is that we, as consumers, must be informed regarding the origins of the bread we eat and that fresh bread is only what is kneaded and baked the same day!
