Bread Fest in Piraeus

The Bakers' Union of the Piraeus Prefecture in association with "Loulis Mills S.A”, under the auspices of the Municipality of Piraeus and the kind support of the Piraeus Chamber of Crafts organises a Bread Fest in Canaris Square, in the district of Pasalimani, on September 21-24, 2019, inviting everyone regardless of age to become acquainted first-sight with the Bakers’ craft.
For the Bread Fest, a fully-equipped bakery will be installed, where experienced professional bakers will be kneading, rolling and baking all kinds of baked goods, which they will then give out free of charge to all visitors to the event.
The purpose of the event is to acquaint our fellow citizens with the Neighbourhood’s Bakery and to demonstrate to all visitors the way fresh bread is made, especially to the younger children beginning to shape their dietary habits, so that they may understand its nutritional value and its necessity for a healthy diet.
The event will be infused with traditional music on Saturday, September 21, where dance groups will be entertaining visitors honouring us with their presence.
The event will be opening on Sunday, September 22, at 19:00.
On Monday, September 23, and on Tuesday, September 24, young visitors from the primary schools of Piraeus will get to know the history of bread and will proceed to knead and make their own bread, in a live interactive play activity.
