During the Greco-Italian war, every day most of the Mill's production supplied the Greek army, which was fighting on the Albanian front.
When the front collapses, the brothers Kostas, Nikos and Giorgos Loulis are forced to suspend the operation of the Mill, after previously grinding all the wheat in stock and distributing it to the staff and institutions.
In the 1940s, during the difficult years of the war, the Loulis family, in order to operate the Mill and meet its obligations, was forced to sell off many of its assets
